Meta's 97% Creator Ads Growth and What It Means for D2C
One number in Meta's Q3 results tells you more about where ads are going than the revenue beat. Partnership ads, the ones brands run through a creator's face and handle, grew 97% year over year and crossed a $15 billion annual run rate. In Q1 that figure was around $10 billion. Five billion dollars of run rate added in two quarters, for a single format.
The same call had two quieter numbers. Nearly 10 million advertisers used at least one of Meta's generative AI creative tools this quarter, and adoption of its video generation features rose 25% quarter over quarter. Average price per ad is up 14% globally. The auction keeps getting more expensive while the format winning it looks less like a polished brand film and more like a person talking into a phone.
We read that as the market settling an old argument. Audiences trust a face over a logo, and advertisers are now paying $15 billion a year to borrow faces. The catch for a mid-size D2C brand is supply: creator partnerships take weeks per asset, the winning formats need constant refresh, and the brands spending the most are locking up the best creators. IgniteAI exists for that gap, generating UGC-style video ads at the pace the format demands, so the creator look stops being rationed by booking calendars.
